For nearly a decade Mike Allen has been playing guitar and singing in the band Sunday Flood. While Allen continues duties in the former he has found an outlet in writing and recording music very much his own. In his work Allen contemplates ideas born out of social convention, challenging the listener to embrace a more purposeful way of living. Mike openly admits his songcraft is as much a hobby as it is therapy, which becomes apparent from the personal nature of the music and the circumstances from which it is born.

Mike Allen was guitarist and vocalist for Sunday Flood. Some of the dream-pop approach is taken by that group here, but the pale luminescent dawn of the nascent shoegazer now breaks forth a stormy and wind-swept day of post-industrial electronica akin to Aphex Twin and Nine Inch Nails. Guitar textures and the treated sounds of other instruments are broad-stroked with umbers, grays, and other dark earth tones in this portrait of nightmares and conflict. Breaking the mood are the islands of vocals, which are about as dark as early Depeche Mode or The Cure.
